We recently caught up with one of our Employee Relations Specialists, Jennifer, about her Optical Express career journey.
Based at our state of the art Head Office in Glasgow, Jennifer has been working with Optical Express for over 3 years. Already coming from a background in private healthcare, she first joined our People Team in an administration role. Jennifer quickly realised that this was the career path that she wanted to follow and went on to complete her CIPD Level 3 qualification and was promoted to an Advisor role within the team.
From there, Jennifer approached Optical Express for support in furthering her studies. With backing from the business, she was then able to complete her CIPD Level 5 degree, fully funded by Optical Express, which she successfully passed and used to progress into her current role as an Employee Relations Specialist. Jennifer uses her skills to partake in a wide variety of tasks, including providing confidential support to any employee within the business that may require help and guidance from The People Team.
Utilising her new qualifications, Jennifer is now completing a degree in Business through The Open University. This is something else that Optical Express has fully supported by allowing a flexible working arrangement, where required, to help aide her studies. Jennifer is planning on using her degree to gain as much experience as possible within the company and the People Team to continue her impressive career progression.
For Jennifer, the best part of her role within the People Team is working with our colleagues across the UK & Ireland, building and developing good working relationships with our clinics as well as the variety that the job brings. Another positive of working with Optical Express for Jennifer is the many benefits and rewards they provide.
